If your having issues with your Outlook Calendar synching correctly with your iPhone. Did you know that 90% of all iPhone users who use Outlook either for their business, FIRM, And Or Corporate accounts have the "Only on this iPhone" option checked or marked when putting Calendar events, meetings, etc. The One This iPhone option was only meant to be there to increase the speed, battery life and over-all performance of the iPhone itself. However this causes issues as well whenever your update your iOS on your iPhone. Apple has worked closely with major firms and corporations to fix this issue however, it still continues to be one and for many help desks including those of Apple and other companies need to work around and let their employees know about. The issue is, "I put an even on my iPhone and it's not synching with my outlook" Another one might be "My Calendar isn't synching with my iPhone when I put something in outlook". This is because the "only on this iPhone" option is checked and isn't marked for your FIRM or Corporate Calendar.
Fixing the issue is simple, a lot of companies use Mobile Iron, Good For Enterprise, And other Corporate mail accounts which allows for configuration of your iPhone iOS and to install Configuration profiles which allow for more control over your iPhone and allow for Outloook and your iPhone to synch with one another. Great example is installing Mobile Iron then having no issues with your iPhone calendar synching with your outlook and vice versa. New iOS is out and a lot of people are updating their iOS and the next thing they know their missing meetings, or putting calendar events on their iPhone and not seeing it on their Outlook Calendars. Causes concern because if your not aware or not seeing whats happening and looking for the event to pop up either on your Outlook or iPhone then your gonna miss it. A lot of business professionals where complaining when the iOS 6 came out and they where missing meetings. This caused a lot of uproar and I could imagine how many help desks world wide had to deal with pissed off director and above level employees.
Then again, as I say the "street goes both ways". If your not conscience of your iPhone and not seeing the synch going on between your iPhone and Outlook Calendar then maybe the iPhone isn't for you. A lot of business professionals and people who use the iPhone themselves with their outlook are Blackberry converts to the iPhone. Even though Google Owns a higher market share than Apple does. The majority of people who own iPhones as professionals where once avid Blackberry users and wanted the next best thing, the iPhone and left a lot of companies scrambling to get everything up and running. Meaning finding flaws in the iOS And having to test every new iOS and finding out the best iPhone aPPs for having FIRM or Corporate emails. Or setting up and running their own Exchange Servers to handle the load of iPhones being used across the board for many FIRMs and Corporations. Which remember if your exchange goes down, then your iPhone isn't going to update emails or calendar as well. Which is why a lot of companies use third party companies to handle this rather themselves. I know big FIRMs, Financial in general use their own servers and mix the Mobile Iron and Good For Enterprise for their Synching Needs and makes it easier to troubleshoot Outlook Calendar and iPhone calendar issues.
So remember your having issues with your iPhone Calendar Synching with your outlook or Vice versa. The first thing you should do is Settings > General > Mail, Contacts, And Calendars > Scroll to the bottom where it says Default Calendar and make sure the "On This iPhone" option isn't checked. If it is then you need to select the appropriate calendar for this be it your FIRM or Corporate Calendar. An option your IT Administrator or if your FIRM or Corporation requires to have an app for would have been preloaded and installed already on the iPhone or iOS Configuration. If all else fails call your Support hotline and remember to give as much information as possible. The more they know they better they can help and in fact the above steps mentioned actually solve 98% of the issues when it comes to Synching with your iPhone and Outlook. This is just the Calendar Synch Issues, when it Comes to Synching Emails From outlook to the iPhone is a whole other story and another post which I'll be posting about soon enough.
