Once you've download mobileiron on your to iOS device, it'll ask for your username, server which is the company or FIRMs server that houses the mobility function or direct line to there mobile email envioronment. The password, and finally PIN. Once you've put in all that information, click: Register - it'll then register and ask you to install profiles. It'll have along the lines of "trust" "Verified" Then prompt you for your iOS Device Passcode. Please note, this isn't your password for your Company Or FIRM Laptop. It is what you use to unlock your iPhone Or iPad device with. For most companies having a simple 4 digit passcode is fine. But for Big FIRMs and Corporations you'll need to upgrade your simple passcode to a more complex one which will be 8-10 characters and numbers. Don't worry, if you do have a simple passcode set up because once you put it in and mobileiron install on your iOS Device it'll kick you into a SAFARI Page. Now, if the company you work for doesn't have any of it's own apps etc or apps it wants to push you can simply click the home button and move on. If your company of FIRM does - wait 40-50 seconds to be prompted for installation of the apps before clicking the home button on your iPhone or iPad device.
Once you've installed the APPs your company or FIRM has pushed to you, if any. Click on the Home button and click on the MAIL APP Icon - this will force or should force you to put in your password which is the one you use to log into your machine with everyday. From there, it'll either A) Ask for you to make a stronger passcode Or B) Say Connection to the server failed. Don't worry, this is normal - give 40 seconds and your emails should be coming through. For those, who where prompted for making a stronger passcode - simply click: Ok and then it should take you touch ID And passcode and you'll put in your simple passcode first then make a new complex one. If it doesn't take you there you can go to Settings > General > Touch ID And Passcode > Put In Your Current Passcode And Click: Change Passcode > Put in your current passcode and click: passcode options and it'll allow for a more complex passcode to be used. Once you've done that, your iOS Device can be restarted or the App will itself will recognize the change and your emails will start coming through.
Please keep in mind, when you do upgrade your iOS Device. Mobileiron will cut off - meaning the connection from the app to your Company Or FIRM Email server will be severed and disconnected. You will need to be completely removed, and re added again in order for it to - work. Meaning, running through the entire set up which only takes 5 minutes max. If you do get disconnected and rec. the "MDM PAYLOAD ERORR" read our article on that for fixing it. Then, reload mobileiron and set it up. Just know though, mobile iron is just the app that allows companies firms both big and small - allow you to have email on your own personal device or company - firm device itself. It allows for IT To control policies and if your office, or other offices have WIFI allow you to connect etc. Alot of companies and FIRMs built their own apps which allow employees to check in to office spaces or cubes or allows for access to wifi in the office so to save on their over-all data on their iPhones and iPad devices.
